WASH DAY CHRONICLES: Mielle Organics, Bask and Bloom Oyin Handmade
REGIMEN:
1. Pre-poo with NEW! Mielle MoistureRX Hawaiin Ginger Overnight Conditioner overnight by covering with a plastic cap in 4 twisted sections
2. Let water drench strands for 1-2 minutes then clarify using NEW! DevaCurl Buildup Buster chelating shampoo to remove heavy shea butter residue from Oyin Handmade Boing
3. Condition hair with Oyin Handmade Honey Hemp Detangling and Moisturizing Conditioner
4. Plop excess water out with hair turban and apply deep conditioner to hair using remaining NEW! Bask and Bloom Bhrami Root Hair Masque from roots to tip. Then steam deep condition hair for 40 - 45 minutes as per product instructions
5. After DC, begin finger-detangling hair. Then follow up with Hercules Sagemann Wide-Toothed Comb
6. Head to the shower and rinse it all out
7. Apply Mielle Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing Scalp Treatment to my scalp
8. Apply (Liquid/Leave-In) Bask and Bloom More Moisture Cream cream leave-in
9. Apply (Crème) EDEN BodyWorks Coconut Shea Curl Defining Crème
10.Apply (Oil) Mielle Organics Mint Almond Oil to seal in the moisture and curls from those great products
11. Install natural hair protective style: Wash and Go Pigtail Braids + Braid-OUT
RESULTS:
- My NEW! Mielle MoistureRX Hawaiin Ginger Overnight Conditioner went in with a bit of difficulty and after I removed it, it was not as moisturizing or slippery as I expected. To date, my favourite Mielle Organics line is still the Honey and Pomegranate line
- I DID NOT LIKE the DevaCurl Buildup Buster. It felt very drying and had minimal slip on my hair. I am really happy that I only spent $12 on the tiny sample size bottle because I don’t really see myself using it again. As a clarifying cleanser, I will finish the bottle however my holy grail is still my Shea Moisture African Black Soap Deep Cleansing Shampoo
- I am almost fully out of my holy grail Oyin Handmade Honey Hemp Detangling and Moisturizing Conditioner. As per usual, even with my bad product choice earlier this week, the conditioner still had amazing slip and detangling properties on my hair. It was also incredibly moisturizing as well
- I absolutely LOOOOOOOVE my NEW!Bask and Bloom Bhrami Root Hair Masque! The scent is absolutely delicious and the moisturization is like NO OTHER! This product immediately started moisturizing and detangling my strands as soon as I put it into my hair. I will definitely be using this again in the future
- I’m really enjoying the scent of my NEW! Mielle Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing Scalp Treatment and it seems to be keeping my itchy scalp at bay. I’m not sure what else this product does so I will have to research it further to consider if I would re-purchase it
- My NEW! Bask and Bloom More Moisture Cream is just as moisturizing and lovely as the deep conditioner. I was skeptical at first about using this as a cream leave-in because it’s so thick, but then I quickly got over that once the product went into my hair. My curls seemed to really enjoy the product as they were much more slippery amongst each other
- I then started to define my curls using my EDEN BodyWorks Coconut Shea Curl Defining Crème. The slip on this product, as a curl crème, is just ok. It definitely does not compare to my trusty Mielle Organics Honey and Pomegranate Coil Custard. I will definitely finish this product, however I don’t think that I will be repurchasing it in the future
